How to Prepare for Underarm Sugaring
Smooth, hair-free underarm skin is not only aesthetically pleasing but also helps prevent unpleasant odors. Sweat odor under the arms is often associated with bacteria accumulating on the hair, which produce this smell.
Here are some basic rules for preparing your underarms for hair removal:
1. Avoid shaving for 7-10 days. This hair length ensures effective removal with both wax and sugar paste. Note that wax can work even 5 days after shaving, but only on hair that tends to grow back quickly.
2. On the day of the procedure:
– Do not apply antiperspirant.
– Take a shower. I recommend washing your underarm area with soap whenever there’s noticeable sweat odor. In general, avoid using antiperspirant every day, especially those that block perspiration. Sweat is a natural process that helps release toxins and waste from the body.
3. Do not exfoliate the skin for at least 5 days before the hair removal session.
4. Avoid the following on the day of the procedure:
– Going to the gym.
– Visiting a sauna, steam room, or swimming pool.
– Taking a bath.
5. Avoid tanning services at least a week before sugaring.
As you can see, preparing for underarm sugaring is quite simple and doesn’t require anything complicated.
